March 2010 will see the launch of the new Edale Alpha Multi press, which has all of the features of the company’s Alpha press and can print up to nine colors in a footprint of five square meters. The Alpha Multi can be purchased as an upgrade to an original Alpha or as a brand new standalone press.

The new Alpha Multi has the same short web path and quick job change as the original Alpha and offers all the benefits of a modular machine but at a fraction of the price, according to the company. Edale, based in Hampshire, England, has sold more than 150 Alpha presses in over 50 countries.

The first Alpha Multi was acquired by Kingfisher Labels, of Bristol, England. Director Martin Jackson says, “The compact footprint and its ability to run a five color or a nine color thread-up ensures minimum waste, which appeals to Kingfisher Labels as it allows maximum flexibility on existing projects as well as providing expanded capabilities as future trends and production requirements dictate.”

Edale plans to hold an open house during the first week of March to showcase the new Alpha Multi.
